Course Description
This course set is designed for pool lifeguards who are required to undertake annual recertification of their knowledge and skills including CPR as part of legislative and industry requirements. Students completing this Refresher course will have previously completed pool lifeguard certification and hold a current HLTAID011 and will be regarded to have substantial experience in this field as part of their role in the workplace or community.
This course set applies to individuals who may be required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

- HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- SISCAQU019 - Supervise patron safety in aquatic locations
- SISCAQU020 - Perform water rescues
- SISCAQU022 - Provide oxygen resuscitation and therapy in an aquatic environment
- SISCAQU021 - Perform complex water rescues
